    Since the advent of detachable coils in the 1990s,2 and the publication of the results of the International Subarachnoid Aneurysm Trial,3 endovascular surgery has grown to become the standard of care for treatment of many intracranial vascular pathologies. Unfortunately, because endovascular procedures have become more complex and commonplace, radiation exposure to patients4-10 and practitioners11-13 has also increased. The results of these increases are not trivial.
