  • Feasibility Study of the Low-Cost Motion Tracking System for Assessing Endoscope Holding Skills

    2020, World Neurosurgery
    Citation Excerpt :

One of the most important tasks of the assistant is to provide the surgeon with a proper vision. An endoscope holder may provide a stable vision but still have many shortcomings, such as crude movements, downward drift, loss of depth perception, lack of flexibility, cost, and a bulky construct.2,17,18 Compared with a mechanical holder arm, the assistant can co-operate with the surgeon rapidly in case of an emergency (e.g., for a broken artery).
